Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Citizens of the Republic of Ireland can register to vote in UK general elections. They will also be eligible to vote in the EU referendum.

It is not clear from your petition whether you would like the rights of Irish citizens to vote in UK general elections to be removed, or just their right to vote in the EU referendum.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what action you would like Parliament to take.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
