Darlington Council have been financially ruining the Town since 1997 now Government cuts will bankrupt the Town the current Council's plan is to cut services to the vulnerable and preserve their jobs when they not Government are at most fault.

The election of councillors in Darlington is the responsibility of the electorate there, not the Government or Parliament.

The Government does have the power to appoint "commissioners" to take over the functions of a council, but for this power to be exercised there needs to be a ‘best value inspection’ that uncovers failings that are serious enough to justify its use.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
