Rejected petition Give parliament a free vote in the matter of The Health Secretary vs the NHS.

We believe that for our government to impose working conditions on its subjects despite widespread professional and public condemnation of those imposed conditions amounts to a dereliction of duty on behalf of the Health Minister and the government. Neither were elected on such a dictatorial mandate

... and we are also fearful of the precedent this sets to and for other public sector workers not just in the National Health Service, but nationwide, in all sectors, and seek to have the imposition of non-agreed terms immediately reversed.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure what question you would like the House of Commons to have a vote on. If you would like the Government to ask the House of Commons to debate and vote on the changes to the contracts of junior doctors, you could start a petition asking for that.

The decision about whether or not to have a "free" vote is a decision for the political parties, not the Government or Parliament.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
