Family members should be given an opportunity to discuss & express their wishes re Resuscitation, End of Life Pathways, Palliative Care at Home or Hospice etc. Family discussions involving the whole family. Ensuring the management & personal needs of illness approaching death are respectfully met.

Discussions surrounding End of Life wishes can be difficult, but, it may be made easier if you knew that someone in your street, was having a similar 'open & honest' conversation with their families. Accessible literature & forums may help to understand language like 'Power of Attorney' or the term 'DNACPR' (Do Not Attempt Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) etc
