Rejected petition National Service For All 16 - 24 Year Olds

Proposal that all 16-24 year old's serve their country for two years and learn self discipline, a trade, working within a team, the value of our country etc. 16 yr old's would enter after GCSE's and A level students at 18 yrs. Uni students at completion of their courses. This would be paid for from cancelled benefit payments, reduction of crime and swelled employment ranks and taxation.
The benefits to society would be enormous and the young would be given lessons in life that would not be attainable from other sources and would give the young structure and purpose to their lives.
Police, fire and medical services to be exempt.
