Rejected petition Investigate whether Jeremy Hunt has brought Parliament into disrepute.

Jeremy Hunt appears to have deliberately misled the House of Commons and the public and as such has brought Parliament into disrepute for which he should be investigated and, if enough evidence is available, prosecuted.

More details

Jeremy Hunt appears to have repeatedly lied about the reasons behind a higher percentage of deaths in patients admitted to hospital at weekends.
He has been informed that his interpretation of the statistics is wrong and despite this he appears to have continued to repeat his version knowing it to be untrue.
Jeremy Hunt would therefore appear to have deliberately misled the House of Commons and the public.
An independent (not a Tory majority) review should take place.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Complaints about breaches of the House of Commons Code of Conduct - which would include allegations that an MP has brought the House of Commons into disrepute - are investigated by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, who is independent of Parliament and Government. You can find out more about the Commissioner and her role here:

http://www.parliament.uk/pcs

The conduct of MPs who also serve as Government Ministers is governed by the Ministerial Code (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/ministerial-code).

Decisions on whether to begin an inquiry into an alleged breach of the Ministerial Code are a matter for the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister can refer allegations to the Independent Adviser on Ministers' Interests. If you wish to write to the Prime Minister’s Office, you can do so using the contact form here:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
