Rejected petition Stop the free antenatal and baby groups in Hastings from being cut.

At the end of this month all free baby groups in Hastings will be stopped. These include antenatal classes, Aquababes and stay and play classes held in children's centres and at Hastings museum. These classes are vital for new families who can often feel isolated or overwhelmed.

More details

These free baby groups are a fantastic way for new families to get out and share their experiences with others and also to stimulate their babies and toddlers, which ultimately leads to happier parents and children. Many of these families cannot afford to attend groups that you have to pay for and cutting these groups will lead to the social exclusion of these families.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Some of these services, especially services available at children's centres, are likely to be the responsibility of your local council.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:
https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillor

You could start a petition calling on the Government to increase funding for local authorities specifically to fund services at children's centres such as antenatal classes.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
