Petition Revise the Protection from Harassment Act 1997
The harassment Act is one incredibly washy piece of legislation which allows the Police to apply the act to almost any situation.
There is clearly a need & public interest in preventing harassment especially where violence or a threat of violence is involved.
It is not proportionate at present
More details
The act needs to exempt online and digital communications as there is clearly technology to get around this contact.
The act needs to allow for non threatening contact and not criminalise civil disputes.
