Petition Make all students houses pay Council Tax

At present homes occupied by students are exempt from paying council tax as the homes are not fully occupied all year round, we believe that this is wrong as they still avail of the services provided by councils eg rubbish collection etc yet they do not contribute financially to these services.

If this policy was implemented here in York the local council would have collected an extra 5 million pounds and would have NOT have had to implement any cuts to local services provided.
