Not only was Lothar Mattheus a mercurial genius on the field but it is evident the English public must never be deprived of his punditry ever again. Appoint him. No matter the cost.

The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations. You might like to write to the BBC to make this suggestion.

ITV is a private company; it is therefore independent of both Government and Parliament.
