Car Park operators are abusing their situation to swindle motorists. The breakdown company, Green Flag, recently did a survey which estimated that motorists are being overcharged well in excess of £1 billion per year.

Most resented is the "Not Transferable" condition applied to tickets. Why not? The time has been paid for!

Other tricks include:-

No change given.
Restrictive coin acceptance.
Awkward charges (eg £1.75 per person)
Rounding up to longer times.

Changes needed:-

Outlaw the "Not Transferrable" condition.
Compulsory Grace of 15 minutes at start of parking to give time to gather fee.
Compulsory 10 minute grace at end of time.
Specify standard range of coin acceptance.
If no change offered then match time to actual amount paid.
