Make it a legal requirement for all government and commercial multiple occupancy premises, having either a fixed or transitory population, to keep and maintain a fully operational defibrillator.

Fire Extinguishers are compulsory in many buildings; 2013-14 there were 322 fire-related deaths in the UK(Source: UK Gov) but it is estimated that there are about 60k out of hospital cardiac arrests in the UK annually. 30k are discovered in time to help save the victim’s life(Source: BHF). If response time for using defibrillators was shortened to within 8 minutes it would save the lives of 15 out of 100 people who collapse with cardiac arrest.(Source: Milan, Brescia and Washington Universities)
