Rejected petition David Cameron to resign in light of the Panama Papers

David Cameron has admitted to having had a £30,000 stake in his father's offshore fund. This admission that he has personally profited from offshore funds means that the public can no longer have confidence in him to tackle corporate tax evasion, and furthermore casts doubts over his probity.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The resignation of the Prime Minister or any other Minister is not the responsibility of the UK Government and Parliament as a whole.

We already have a petition open calling on the House of Commons to consider a vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
