Need independent body with more stringent rules/codes on all historical, current & planned outside interests, potential influences & conflicts of interests, & their full declaration, so our elected/non-elected representatives work to the highest ethical & moral standards that engender public trust.

The PM & all MPs/candidates should be scrutinised by an independent body using more stringent, clear rules & do the honourable thing accordingly.

1. Aim is to increase public trust in our democratic process & our politicians.
2. Need to minimise conflicts of interest/influence that might bias MPs’ opinions, decisions, actions etc. (including investments, corporate/foreign deals, donations, second jobs, consultancies etc.); need full declarations at point of potential impact.
3. Need transparency based on plain-English declarations of conflicts (not just posting tax returns that can hide all kinds of other investments/financial interests).
