Rejected petition Establish a realistic cost for the use of public transport for school children.
100% inflation ticket price in order for children to attend school. Yet again the general public have to pay for the incompetent local road planning management. The so called "promotion of public transport" will only increase local road traffic. Regardless of the already horrific traffic situation.
More details
Inflation of 100% without any prior warning. Monthly tickets no longer offered. Weekly tickets only offered.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure what action you would like the Government or Parliament to take. Public transport fares are not set directly by the Government.
In the case of buses, local bus operators (bus companies) are free to set their own fares. However, local transport authorities (usually local councils) have the power to set maximum fares in some circumstances. For trains, the price of train tickets is the responsibility of train operating companies, although the Government can set the rate by which train operating companies can raise ticket prices.
If you would like the Government to provide a subsidy for school children using public transport, you could start a new petition calling for that.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
