No disabled people have been nominated for the BBC Sports Personality Award of the year since 2011. We believe that at least one disabled person should be nominated for this every year.

The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
