Contributions include opportunities for young people to study and work in other EU countries, for teachers to share effective practice, funded project opportunities through Lingua and Erasmus +, support for research enabling major projects to be undertaken, social and cultural links at all levels.

The significant contributions to educational purposes that have been brought by EU membership extend across the curriculum and beyond the education system. The Language Alliance supports this petition; we are a broad-based independent Forum, created in 2002, aiming to bring to the attention of a wider public the importance of language to the development of community understanding and empowerment on a local, national or international level; members attend on a personal basis.
