Rejected petition The Government Must Publish Its Brexit Plans.
Thus far in the debate leading up to the referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union the responsibility for explaining what would happen if Britain left the EU has been placed on the Leave campaign. However, the British people need to know what the government plans to do post-'Brexit'.
More details
It is not right that Vote Leave campaigners are being expected to tell the public what the government might do if Britain left the European Union when the government itself has not told us what it plans to do.
The British public cannot confidently vote on Britain's future with only speculation from the Leave and Remain campaigns regarding our post-Brexit economic model. The government must tell us what economic model it prefers.
We simply must be told what the government plans to do.
