Anyone employed and paying tax shoud be able to claim any expenses incurred against any tax payable including travel expenses.

Self employed people and business owners are able to claim expenses against any tax they may owe. It is unfair that the lower paid can not claim travel expenses when travel to and from work can be a large expense for them.
