Rejected petition Cancer charities should put all money donated towards research.

A lot of cancer research charities such as Macmillan Support and Teenage Cancer Trust take a percentage of the money they receive for themselves and don't put all of the money to research and many people would agree that that's not right. Especially people with cancer who desperately need a cure.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We can't accept your petition because the issue you raise is not the responsibility of the Government or Parliament. Within the law, charities decide themselves how to spend their money, as they are independent of both Government and Parliament.

You could start a petition calling for Parliament to make a specific change to the law to limit how charities can spend their money.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
