Rejected petition Stop the BBC closing the recipes website, cancel the awards instead!

As part of a cost-cutting exercise, the BBC have decided to close it's food recipe website hosting over 11,000 recipes! Thousands have already comments on the website they don't want this to happen. Can the UK government intervene and stop this nonsense happening

This decision is the responsibility of the BBC. The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.

You could start a petition calling on the Government not to make cuts to the BBC's funding.
