We desperately need Doctors, Scientists, Engineers, yet every year we fail to train in sufficient numbers whilst pumping out graduates in law, media, politics, travel and more exotic topics which rarely lead to careers where our society needs them most.

We must encourage more students entering higher education to consider where society needs them most by offering to fully fund their academic fees on the basis that they first qualify and then agree to work in their chosen field here in the UK for a minimum of 10 years after qualifying or the fee's - based on a sliding scale will be recoverable.
These publicly funded places should be offered entirely to satisfy the needs of our society and no other consideration should be evaluated or allowed.
