Rejected petition Raise Inquiry child deaths 1966 to 1972 in care at The Beeches Ixworth Suffolk

Disabled children, in Hackney and Islington care, died at the Beeches. In spite of Commons questions in 1972 it seems no one knows how many died or how they were registered dead. Abuse inquiries, Peter Righton's Islington Suffolk project, have now drawn attention to the nearby Henniker Estate.

More details

Questions, about how the local HM Coroner did not gain an overview of care deaths, were put to Dame Janet Smith Shipman Inquiry. The stage tasked to examine shortcomings in our death registration system. Dame Janet ruled Beeches beyond her terms of reference. Dame Janet ruled out 1972 police inquiry re death registrations Sue Ryder charity. Now we know that Savile abused at Sue Ryder child hospice. BBC Trust are aware that this was not declared to Dame Janet's Savile review at BBC.
