Petition Introduce retrospective legislation offering protection to company pension funds

Philip Green purchased BHS in 2000. Since then he has reportedly extracted £580M from the company, driving it to bankruptcy. Meanwhile there is a £571M shortfall in the pension fund affecting thousands of workers. This is a morally reprehensible situation that should be rectified.

MPs want to hear from BHS pensioners

A group of MPs called the Work and Pensions Committee are interested in hearing from BHS pensioners. In particular, they would like to hear from people who have faced cuts to their BHS pension. They would like people to answer one or more of the following questions:

-What has happened to your BHS pension?
-What effect has any cut had on your family finances?
-How has the state of the BHS pension scheme affected your planning for the future?

Your comments will inform the work of the Committee.

What is the Work and Pensions Committee?

The Work and Pensions Committee looks at and questions how the Government Department for Work and Pensions:

·         is run
·         spends money
·         decides on its policies

It's a cross-party committee and is independent from the Government.
