the minister of health Andrew Lansley ordered a rethink of the proposed closures of maternity services in greater manchester under the making it better proposal.
the figures show a significant increase in greater manchesters birth rate from that estimated in the original making it better proposal.
Andrew Lansley said he could see no reason that 9 units instead of 8 could be proposed, with this we want the Minister to give the go ahead for a 9th unit based at salford royal be given the go ahead.
