I call upon the government to establish the success or failure of the blanket smoking ban. There was no ordinary public consultation only a public sector consultation i.e. Health professionals and quangos set up by the government etc were consulted, and not members of the general public.
Surveys carried out prior to the legislation suggest that 80% of the general public were against a blanket smoking ban.
