Rejected petition It is a good democratic ideal to introduce compulsory voting in a general election with a right to tick 'none of the above'

More details

It is a good democratic ideal to introduce compulsory voting for all general elections (analogous to complusory filling in of the census questionnaires), with a right to tick 'none of the above' candidates, unless there are good reasons for an eligible voter failing to vote (like as a result of incapacity, illness, in custody, currently residing abroad). Research and Development must also be given to internet voting. This will prevent the present situation of elected MPs being voted for by a small percentage of all eligible voters.
