Following the Leave EU Referendum result and because of the change the country is about to go through, the people should have the opportunity to choose who they would like to represent their views in Parliament.
Please, be aware that the Petitions Committee can only table general motions and a debate to trigger a General Election cannot be started by a general motion. It needs to be a specific motion as set out by the Fixed-Term Parliaments Act 2011.
Despite this, I feel a petition to document the number of people - the general public - who want a General Election following the Leve EU Referendum result will let Parliament know what the people want to do next.
Why was this petition rejected?
