That all people who hold public office from town councillors to police officers to judges, magistrates, senior civil servants or Members of Parliament and Lords, who are convicted of a criminal offence while in office, should receive double the penalty for that crime than what an ordinary citizen or resident should expect.

That this should be put into law as "High Crimes and Misdemeanour's , or similar, according to our own legal naming conventions.
