Rejected petition Debate whether the UK should proceed with leaving the EU.
Almost half of us voted to remain, sovereignty rests with Parliament, some voters were misled by doubtful claims about immigration, EU membership payments and loss of sovereignty. We expect our MPs to debate such issues and make wise choices on our behalf.
More details
The EU referendum held on 23rd June produced 17,410,742 votes to leave out of an electorate of 46,501,241. That's less than 37.5% of the electorate. But 16,141,241 (more than 34.7%) voted to remain in the EU.
Should we really leave the EU on such a flimsy basis? What does parliament think?
