I would like Government to pilot a BigGreenGapYear (of 6 months duration) which would enable young people pre-university to contribute to communities & climate change remediation or sustainability. It would re-connect them with wider society and benefit local communities at the same time. It could, potentially, attract academic credit too.

Furthermore, to explore sponsorship from the private/public/charitable sectors equivalent to an educational credit (of say £3,500/head) – as a contribution towards their first year university/college tuition fees – in exchange for 6 months service pre-university.
