Rejected petition UK Government to hold an additional EU Referendum for Young People aged 16 & 17.
We call upon the Government to hold an additional EU referendum for Young People aged 16 & 17 at the time of the EU Referendum on the 23rd June 2016.
Young people were given the opportunity to have thier voices heard during the Scottish Referendum, so why not the EU?
More details
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is a legally-binding international agreement setting out the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of every child, regardless of their race, religion or abilities (Save the Children).
By not allowing Young People the opportunity to have a vote in the referendum goes against Article 12 of the UNCRC "children and young people have the human right to have opinions and for these opinions to matter".
