Rejected petition Weight constitutional votes by age so younger voters get more influence
Consitutional questions create outcomes that influence people over many years, and are difficult to reverse. Younger voters are disproportionally influenced, the outcomes will stay with them longer, and young people are more likely to be vulnerable to the economic or social outcomes.
More details
We suggest that voting in consitutional referenda should be weighted by voters age with the votes of younger people carrying more weight. This would not apply to general elections where the votong cycle is short, so no age groups are differentially influenced.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
It's not clear how this could be done. Voting in the UK is anonymous. It is not therefore possible to work out which votes would be accorded greater weight.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
