This petition was submitted during the 2015-2017 parliament
Rejected petition Investigate whether the result of the EU referendum is legally binding.
Significant claims made in the campaign appear to be untrue.
More details
Two major claims appear to be unfounded.
1) that we will have £350 million pounds per week available to spend on public services. In fact the net contribution to the eu is £8.5 billion which is around £165 million per week.
2) “Turkey (population 76 million) is joining the EU,”. In fact Britain (and other countries) has (have) the right of veto in the matter of allowing new countries to have free movement within Europe.
