Rejected petition General election must be called if a prime minister resigns

In a general election people vote not just for a party but for the person, the prime minister, to represent their country and their beliefs. When a prime minister resigns then it's should be for the country to vote for the new prime minister, not the party. Hence, a general election to be called.
