All employees whose work involves significant Health & Safety issues should be able to fully understand, observe and communicate H & S requirements.
They should be able to comprehend and speak good, clear and fluent English in order to minimise risk of misunderstanding.
They should be able to communicate reliably on safety issues with colleagues and persons they are in contact with during the course of their job.
In particular, persons who communicate / interface with the public should be able communicate and direct people when there are emergencies or advise busy crowds etc .
(e.g. public transport announcements, emergency service operators, other public event interfacing and work site/building site supervisors)
