With the recent increase in the number of people taking to the bicycle as a means of transport and recreation, the government should take the opportunity to begin a cycle awareness campaign in a similar vein to those for motorcyclists, highlighting the vulnerability of cyclists on the roads when confronted with fast moving vehicles, and poor road conditions, and try to reverse the negative views of cyclists by some drivers.
