More details
We call upon our Parliament to act within their legal right to maintain sovereignty and not invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon treaty based on the recent referendum. A parliamentary vote against the wish of the public majority has precedent, for example the abolition of capital punishment in 1969. Because of the European Convention of Human Rights, this is unlikely to return to the UK. Related articles: 1) on.ft.com/28VpYQM 2) bit.ly/28ZloTZ 3) bbc.in/28W5ZAQ 4) bit.ly/28XMTwb
