Important:

This petition was submitted during the 2015-2017 parliament

Rejected petition David Cameron should remain as PM in order to oversee a second EU referendum.

I believe that there should be a second EU referendum, in order to give people a chance to think again: second thoughts are best. In that event, David Cameron is the right politician to oversee the process of a second vote. He should remain in post as PM at least until this has been completed.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The resignation of an individual Minister, including the Prime Minister, is not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole. It is a decision for the individual concerned. The UK Government or Parliament cannot stop a Minister resigning.

On your request for a second referendum, we already have a petition open about this: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/133753

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
