With living memory of the conflict now gone, our war memorials are the only tangible link we have with those dark years of slaughter. With many of these fine structures suffering the ravages of time, does just one in every 650 people in Britain believe that there could be no better way of honouring those who gave everything than by renovating those memorials which need it?
