This petition was submitted during the 2010-2015 parliament
Rejected petition BBC licence fee, you pay so you you choose.
More details
WE pay the licence fee, so WE employ the presenters who appear on OUR tv and radio shows. If an agreed number of viewers/listeners (to be decided in the DCMS select committee) express dissatisfaction with said presenters, then the presenter must seek alternative employment in the private sector. If 100,000 (as an example number) customers in a restaurant complained about the waiter/waitress, said employee would be fired. The BBC should be no different!
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
This is a matter for the BBC, not the Government.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
