Petition Maximum working hours for bus drivers

We petition the Department of Transport to revise the maximum hours a bus driver can work to two 4 hour spells with a minimum rest period of one hour and a maximum rest period of two hours to avoid employers making drivers work spread overs as a routine ploy for service requirements.
For to long have employers been using the service requirement excuse for keeping their employees at work for 60 hours a week to complete a 40+ hour working week, adding to stress related illness and other health and safety issues and loss of family life.
