Re-Introduce the teaching of practical skills in schools for example:

Carpentry and Joinery - assembling flat pack furniture, building kitchen worktops and cupboards, fitting door linins and hanging doors and windows, and lathe work

Plumbing (water only) - basic skills to include changing taps, installing kicthens and bathrooms, fixing leaks.

Car mechanics - from chaging oil and other fluids and filters to stripping and re-assembling engines.

Basic home maintenance and D.I.Y skills

Not all students are good at academic subjects but are very good at practical subjects and working with their hands
