Important:

This petition was submitted during the 2015-2017 parliament

Rejected petition The decision for the UK to exit the EU to be made by Parliament, not the public.

The referendum that took place on the 23rd of June 2016 is not legally binding, and although the will of the people should not be ignored entirely, a 52/48 ratio of the voting population is not a strong enough result, on its own, to make such an important decision of the future of the country.
