On Question Time on the 26th of June well known politicians indicated that there is always deceit in political campaigns and implied that not telling the truth was somehow more acceptable as it was a campaign for a referendum, not a government seeking election. These statements betray that the political class believe that lying to the public is acceptable and the essentially dishonourable character of many politicians.
