Important:
This petition was submitted during the 2015-2017 parliament
Rejected petition Debate the detrimental effects of invoking Article 50 of the Treaty of Lisbon.
Members of Parliament must take note of the referendum result but are not legally bound to abide by it. A majority of MPs in the House wish to remain in Europe so to vote for the invoking of Article 50 would be going against their beliefs.
