All passengers travelling by air pay Air Passenger Duty (APD) to either the airline direct, or to the travel agent. If the planned and paid for journey is cancelled before departure, travel insurance companies may refund all or part of the fare, but they WILL NOT REFUND THE APD, and it cannot be obtained from the airline or travel agent. We the undersigned request that the Government introduce legislation to compel the travel insurance companies to refund the APD.
