I recently went to look at a new house and found to my amazement that the lease was for just 125 years, the ground rent was £150 per annum escalating! and there was an estate charge of £100 per annum also! The old saying "An Englishman's home is is Castle" clearly is no more. The wealthy people that own the land intend to get it back pretty quick! Leasehold on houses should be banned.
