Rejected petition Bring back the Grammar Schools

Trafford gets the best exam results not only in Greater Manchester but also in the whole of the North West due to its selective eductaion.
Out of the entire country only 12 councils send more the 2.6% of their students to Oxford or Cambridge, 11 of these councils are in the South East whilst the 12th is Trafford.
Grammar Schools consistently get higher grades then both Comprehensive and Private Schools, so why not bring them back??
No matter what class, colour or background you come from, if you are bright enough you will succeed in a Grammar School because the ethos and teaching standards are that high.
So don't throw away this once in a life time chance to help those who can't afford private education get a good education.
