Interest rates held at 0.5% for over 2 years and inflation nearing 5%-Savers are the forgotten people of this long lasting recession.They have lost income due to reduced interest rates and their capital is also being eroded due to sky high inflation.I would suggest that the government give consideration to increasing the Cash ISA limit at the next budget,say from the current limit of £5340 to £10000.This course of action would give hard pressed savers a welcome tax break.
